Out for paint!

This morning, I put the car on a flatbed tow truck and sent it away for final painting. Should be done in about a week! In the meantime, my batteries should be delivered, and the garage cleaned and ready for reassembly...

Hello Ross,
Fantastic start on the blog. I am excited to watch your progress.

I have lacked the confidence to even consider a project like this, but have started searching the web for information.

I found electroauto and your blog today, and love the 914!

Can't wait to see your next post!

Thanks! I should have a lot of posts in the upcoming week - I plan on doing a lot of work on the car while I take some time off over the 4th of July week.

Oh, and be sure to check out the links - Tim at http://914ev.blogspot.com is substantially farther along than I am at the actual conversion.

Ya, I have not finished reading Tim's blog yet. I followed the link from your site.

I have also added both of your links to my blog http://agdrosr2.blogspot.com

I am also a computer scientist, and building an R2D2 is my first baby steps into mechanical engineering. I have a few friends that are also very interested in ev... we are all talking, and as of right now I am looking at late fall to the new year before budget constraints would allow me to start.

I also like the idea of consuming as much info as possible between now and then to prepare myself for the project.

again, I look forward to watching your progress.

Hey, great blog, and awesome progress! I just sent my 914 out to the body shop to have the hell hole patched up before I start doing the guts of the electric conversion. I'm doing a DC Zilla 1k conversion. (9" ADC, PFC-20 charger, Z1k controller). I've got an infrequently updated blog at http://914ev.com/blog/slacy and I'm the moderator of http://groups.google.com/group/914ev. Come on by and join the group!

Hey, Steve, thanks for the pointers! I've added them to the Links page. I'll head on over to the Google Groups now...
