I've only taken it up to 50mph on city streets (that was in 3rd gear), and it took about 15 seconds to get there. But I have not had anybody honking at me impatiently while I accelerate, so it's pretty compatible with normal street car use.<BR/><BR/>Regen braking safety - the regen brakes are fairly mild. And the consensus is that the Porsche 914 stock brake bias valve tends to bias a little toward the front. I've practiced taking a few corners at reasonably high speed and have noticed no tendency for the rear to break loose, so I don't think it's a major issue.<BR/><BR/>People who *race* electric 914s tend to use exotic batteries (less weight), DC motors (less weight in the controllers) and no regen braking.
